Everything and everyone makes and responds to sound.

Plants do.

One plant that responds to sound-induced vibration is Mimosa pudica, also known as the “sensitive plant.” Vibrations induce electrical signals across the leaflets of this plant, and cells at the base of the leaflets respond to these action potentials osmotically. This response results in a sharp change in the turgor pressure in these pulvinus cells, and that pressure change, in turn, results in the folding of the blade at the pulvinus. Another pulvinus at the base of the petiole may also respond if the vibration is severe enough. This kind of response is known as seismonasty.

And, of course, humans do.

Noise pollution can disturb our work, concentration, relaxation and sleep. It can cause stress and create or worsen physical problems such as high blood pressure, chronic exhaustion and heart disease. A quieter environment is a restful place that promotes relaxation and a happier and healthier community, because neighbourhood noise can cause annoyance by disrupting normal domestic activities such as reading or watching television.

Matthew 12: 34-36 says, For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.The good man from his inner good treasure flings forth good things, and the evil man out of his inner evil storehouse flings forth evil things. But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak.

If you trace the word “heart” back to its original Hebrew, you’ll find the word is not really “heart” here, but soul (nephesh).

Matthew 22:37 says we are to “love the Lord, thy God, with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
Mind here is the Greek word “dianoia”. “Dianoia,” more precisely translated, means willpower (or volition).

Think about why Jesus said that. And think about what you’re thinking about because that’s where your words will come from. The Bible instructs us on how to think: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable– if anything is excellent or praiseworthy– think about such things.” (Philippians 4:8 NIV)

and how not to think:

“Cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
